Wayne D. Thorn of Prattville, Alabama was surprised Sunday evening, June 12, 2005 with an induction into the Alabama Auctioneer’s Hall of Fame. On hand to share in this honor were Wayne’s wife, Joyce, their eldest son, Andy Thorn, Andy’s wife, Gayle and their son, Kaleb.
Wayne is one of only 16 recipients of this award since the hall of fame’s inception. Wayne has been a member of the Alabama Auctioneers Association for many years and has served as Director, President, and Chairman of the Board. He has served on numerous committees and was instrumental in starting many new programs still being used by the association today.
Wayne currently serves on the Alabama State Board of Auctioneers, appointed by Governor Don Siegelman.
